Planning a Cruise Holiday

Planning a cruise holiday can be very tough – especially if it’s your first one. It’s important to find the balance between finding a quality holiday and a cheap cruise and amateurs can spend hours browsing cruise deals. The main things to think about are who, when, where and for how much.

Firstly you need to think about who you’re going with – for example if you’re going with children then it’s worth looking around on cruise deals with lots of activities – and bear in mind some cruises do have age limits. On the other hand if you don’t have kids or you don’t want be around them then you can look for an adult only cruise.

Next you should consider your price range. Cruises can be fairly expensive, but bear in mind you can decrease the price by shopping around cruise deals for longer and by travelling with someone else, in order to share a room with them. If you really want a cheap cruise then you can go on a ‘cruise to nowhere’. These go out on long weekends out of a port into the ocean and then return, without any stops. These are not perhaps as fun but they will give you a general idea of what a cruise is like.

Where you’re going will also influence your price. Some places will offer you a cheaper cruise – however it is important to bear in mind that perhaps a shorter cruise in a more expensive place would be better. When you cruise is also a factor to consider. Many cruise deals are cheaper in less favourable seasons – in spring or fall for example, because many families have children who are in school. So if you want a cheap cruise and you don’t have children, then perhaps this is the best time for you.
